About the Role
Student MinistriesÂ
Preparing biblical lessons and teachings and provide teaching opportunities to other qualified young adults
Engage parents as vital partners
Develop a strategic plan for growing a vibrant student ministry
Provide periodic retreat opportunities
Create a pipeline for young adult leadership
Lead annual or bi-annual youth missions trip, preferably in support of missionaries already supported by CityLight or Open Bible
Team Leadership
Recruit, disciple, and sustain a team of volunteer leaders within the CityLight bodyÂ
Leading and pastoring the student ministries team including but not limited to personal meetings and quarterly team gatherings.Â
Scheduling and conducting team meetings
Coaching and challenging people to volunteer leaders to develop their gifts
Communication
Communicate well with church leaders and members
Engage parents as vital partners
Spiritual Care
Support families, especially in times of crisis
Connect intentionally and be able to minister to individuals and families within the church body when God leads or directed by leadership.
Hospital Visits when necessary.
Meetings and Reporting
Meetings with lead pastors to evaluate progress, problem solve and establish new assignments
Attend the bi-weekly Leadership hom group.
Quarterly ministry meetings to celebrate wins, renew vision, create cohesiveness throughout the church ministries.Â
Oversee the volunteer screening process to ensure a competent and qualified body of volunteer adults
Oversee the expenditures of the budget allocated towards the youth ministries
Oversee fundraising efforts for student ministries
Engage in CityLight Sunday servicesÂ
Other
Complete other church related assignments as asked in a timely and efficient manner
Attend other meetings as assigned
Leadership Structure
Supervision - Lead Pastor
Subordinates - Volunteers within ministries assigned to the role.
Requirements
Expresses full agreement with the Mission and Faith Statement of CityLight Church.
Strong communication skills
Efficient at problem solving
Commitment to a team approach to ministry including delegating responsibility toteam members Â
Have a Pastoral philosophy of equipping young people in ministry and discipling them in obedience to Jesus
Self-starter and needs little supervision
Creative, optimistic and works well under time pressure
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask—organize multiple projects and set priorities
Willingness to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by word and example, including prayer, to
Contribute to an environment conducive to supporting CityLight Church ministry.
